Apple Kvass – belarusian recipe. In this drink, it is best to use dry yeast. At the end of fermentation, you can add a small amount of dry or fresh mint.
Apple Kvass Ingredients
- Apples 500 g
- Water 1 l
- Dry yeast 0,5 tsp
- Sugar 150 g
- Lemon juice 0,5 tsp
Apple Kvass Recipe
For the apple kvass recipe, peel off the apples, remove the core and cut into small slices.
Put the prepared apples in a saucepan and pour hot water over it. Then put on fire and cook for 5 minutes. When the apples are cooked, cool the broth without removing the lid.
In a separate bowl, in a small amount of warm apple broth, dilute the yeast and set aside for 20 minutes.
When the apple broth has cooled, pour sugar into it, pour in lemon juice and yeast. Mix everything, cover with a lid and set aside for 12-15 hours to ferment at room temperature.
After the time apple kvass must be filtered and cooled.
