Caraway (lat. Carum) is a biennial herbaceous plant of the umbelliferous family. The stem height reaches 1 m. Cumin grows in a temperate climate in Europe and Asia. In the wild, caraway is found in Asia Minor, Western Europe, North America and Central Asia. The culture was introduced long before our era in Asia Minor. In Europe, caraway seeds began to be cultivated in the 9th century.
