American corn casserole - an American cuisine recipe, any hard cheese will do for the casserole.

Recipe Ingredients

Canned Corn 600 g
Pork Belly 200 g
Onion 1 pcs
Butter 4 tbsp
Wheat Flour 2 tbsp
Milk 125 ml
Mustard 0.5 tsp
Egg Yolk 1 pcs
White Bread 3 slices
Breadcrumbs 0.5 cup

Cooking Recipe

For the American corn casserole recipe, melt the loin and place it with the fat in a fireproof dish. Throw the corn on a sieve, let the water drain, and then transfer to the loin. Finely chop the onion and fry in hot butter (2 tablespoons). Pour flour into the fried onion, mix and dilute with milk. Then season the sauce with salt, mustard, pepper and sugar, mix and simmer for 5 minutes.

Introduce the yolk into the cooked sauce, mix quickly and pour the sauce over the corn. Cut slices of white bread into small cubes and fry for 1 tbsp. butter. Grate cheese and mix with breadcrumbs. Mix the cubes of toasted bread with the corn mixture, sprinkle everything with breadcrumbs and cheese, and put the pieces of the remaining butter on top. Bake corn casserole at 200°C (390°F) for 20 minutes.
