Cabbage casserole - a Turkish recipe, cabbage casserole is great for lunch and any holiday as an appetizer.

Recipe Ingredients

White Cabbage 1.5 kg
Onion 2 pcs
Minced Beef 250 g
Broth 400 ml
Tomato Paste 2 tbsp
Milk 200 ml
Eggs 3 pcs
Butter 6 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

For the cabbage casserole recipe, peel the onion, finely chop and lightly fry in oil. Then add minced meat to the onion, mix and fry until the water has completely evaporated.

Finely chop the cabbage, salt and lightly mash with your hands. Add cabbage to minced meat and mix. Simmer cabbage over high heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. When all the water from the cabbage has evaporated, add water and tomato paste. Mix everything well and simmer over medium heat. When the cabbage becomes soft and the water evaporates, remove from heat.

Put the slightly cooled cabbage on a baking sheet, sprinkle with grated cheese on top. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with milk and pour over the cabbage.

Place the tray with the cabbage in a preheated 250°C (480°F) oven and bake until golden brown, 30 to 40 minutes. When cabbage casserole is ready, let it cool, cut into squares and serve.
