Braided shortbread cookies with poppy seeds - a recipe of Armenian cuisine, the thinner the dough is rolled out, the drier the cookies will be and the less it needs to be baked.

For the recipe braided shortbread cookies with poppy seeds, melt the butter, pour it into 600 g of sifted flour and grind into crumbs.
Pour cream, soda, salt dissolved in water into crumbs and mix. Beat the eggs with sugar until stiff and fold into the batter. Place the prepared dough on a floured board and knead the dough.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of approximately 0.5-0.7 mm and cut into strips 2 cm wide. Weave braids from the strips, sprinkle with poppy seeds and put on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
Place the prepared shortbread into an oven preheated to 200°C (390°F) and bake for 20 minutes.
