Larks - a recipe for russian cuisine, larks were baked in honor of the coming spring, on March 22, on the Day of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. For larks recipe, dilute salt, oil and honey in 50 ml of hot water. Mix the flour with the baking powder and, gradually adding flour, knead an elastic dough. If necessary, add flour or water. The dough must be kneaded for at least 15 minutes.

Roll the finished dough into a sausage and cut into large pieces. Roll the cut sausages into knots so that the ends protrude. Form the head of a lark from one end, and flatten the other end with your fingers and make a few incisions, thus forming a tail. You can make eyes out of raisins, but when baking, the raisins swell and may fall out.

Transfer the molded larks to the prepared floured baking sheet and bake in a preheated 180°C (355°F) oven for 15-20 minutes .
