Armenian pilaf is very interesting and original in preparation. Armenian sweet pilaf is cooked for any holiday, and not only. In Armenia, every family has its own recipe for Armenian pilaf.

Recipe Ingredients

Rice 2 cups
Meat 500 g
Onion 2 pcs
Vegetable Oil 100 ml
Barberry 1 tbsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Black Pepper 1 tsp

Cooking Recipe

For the Armenian pilaf recipe, cut the meat into small pieces. Rinse rice 3-4 times. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, add peppercorns and turmeric. After the spices are lightly fried and give off flavor, add the rice and mix everything well.

Lightly fry the rice until transparent, add water so that it covers the rice by 1-1.5 cm, cover with a lid. Cook rice until fully cooked over medium heat. In a separate pan, fry the chopped onion in vegetable oil.

Add meat, salt, ground black pepper to the onion and fry until the meat is fully cooked. When the rice is cooked, put it on a plate, and on top - pieces of meat. Decorate Armenian plov with chopped herbs.
