Hummus is a recipe for Jewish cuisine, a very famous snack that is very easy to prepare at home. This recipe is the basis for hummus, then each housewife adds those products that she likes best. It could just be paprika, chopped herbs, garlic, hot pepper or cumin. Some people add ice water to dilute it, but ice makes hummus more elastic and airy.

Recipe Ingredients

Chickpeas 350 g
Soda 0,5 tsp
Olive Oil 50 ml
Lemon Juice 60 ml
Tahini 150 g
Salt 0,5 tsp

Cooking Recipe

The recipe for hummus is very simple. Cover the chickpeas with water and set aside for 6 hours. Afterwards, rinse the chickpeas and remove the shell. Pour clean water over the chickpeas, add baking soda and place over medium heat. Baking soda makes the chickpeas cook faster.

When the chickpeas become soft, transfer them to a blender bowl and grind, adding salt, tahini and lemon juice.

Next, without ceasing to beat, add olive oil and 3-4 ice cubes. Don't be alarmed if the hummus turns out runny; after it sits, it will become thicker. Place hummus on a plate, sprinkle with paprika and pour over olive oil.
