Sweet and sour beef brisket – a Jewish cuisine recipe. This is the best brisket you have ever tasted. This is a very traditional Rosh Hashanah and Pesach riecept and is definitely a winner any time of the year for those who love very tender beef.

Recipe Ingredients

Beef Brisket 1.5-1.8 kg
Water 250 ml
Ketchup 250 ml
Onion 2 pcs
Garlic 1 clove
Brown Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

For sweet and sour brisket, peel and slice the onion, chop or grate the garlic. Wash the beef well.

In a frying dutch oven, without oil, fry the brisket on all sides until golden brown.

Add water, ketchup, vinegar, onion, garlic, brown sugar and salt to the brisket. Bring to a boil and cover. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking until tender, turning the brisket over from time to time.

Brisket is prepared from 2.5 hours to 3.5 hours. After removing the brisket, let it cool slightly and cut into slices. Pour the beef brisket with the sauce and refrigerate for 5-6 hours, preferably overnight. The next day, warm up and serve.
