Shot lavash – a traditional Georgian dish, in fact it is bread made from yeast dough. In Georgia, lavash is cooked in special oval ovens - "tone".

Recipe Ingredients

Wheat Flour 500 g
Water 300 ml
Dry Yeast 2 tsp
Salt 2 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil 3 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

For the recipe shoti-lavash dilute the yeast in warm water, add sugar and leave in warm for 20 minutes. Mix flour with salt, pour in diluted yeast, butter and knead an elastic dough.

Let the dough stand warm for 1-2 hours. After dividing the dough into 10-12 pieces, roll out approximately 20 by 8 cm.

Sprinkle the dough with water, prick in several places with a fork, sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds and place on a baking sheet sprinkled with flour. Bake pita bread at 230°C (450°F) for 7-10 minutes.
