Zhur – national dish of Belarusian cuisine. A great dish for a healthy diet. The basis of this dish is strained infusion of oatmeal.
- Oat flakes 200 g
- Water 2,5 cup
- Onion 2 pcs
- Lard 150 g
For the recipe zhur, you need to grind oatmeal in a blender or coffee grinder and pour water for 10-15 hours.
Cut the lard into small pieces and fry with chopped onion until golden brown. Squeeze out water from oatmeal and put on fire.
When the water boils, salt, pepper and add onion with fat. Mix everything well and cook zhur until thickened for 2-3 minutes.
