Sweet and sour beef brisket – a Jewish cuisine recipe. This is the best brisket you have ever tasted. This is a very traditional Rosh Hashanah and Easter riecept and is definitely a winner any time of the year for those who love very tender beef.
Sweet and sour beef brisket ingredients
- Beef brisket 1,5-1,8 kg
- Water 250 ml
- Ketchup 250 ml
- White wine vinegar 100 ml
- Onion 2 pcs
- Garlic 1 clove
- Brown sugar 2 tbsp
- Salt 1 tbsp
Sweet and sour beef brisket recipe
For sweet and sour brisket, peel and slice the onion, chop or grate the garlic. Wash the beef well.
Add water, ketchup, vinegar, onion, garlic, brown sugar and salt to the brisket. Bring to a boil and cover. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking until tender, turning the brisket over from time to time.
Brisket is prepared from 2.5 hours to 3.5 hours. After removing the brisket, let it cool slightly and cut into slices. Pour the beef brisket with the sauce and refrigerate for 5-6 hours, preferably overnight. The next day, warm up and serve.
