Salted lemons – a Moroccan cuisine recipe, salted lemons can be bought in the supermarket, or you can cook it yourself, it's not difficult. Small lemons are often used for salting, but you can also solt medium-sized lemons. Salted lemons in Morocco are used as a side dish or for preparing various food recipes, especially meat ones.

Recipe Ingredients

Lemon 6 pcs
Lemon Juice 2.5 cups
Cinnamon 1 pcs
Coriander 1 tbsp
Black Pepper 1 tbsp
Hot Pepper 3-4 pcs
Salt 6 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

To cook a Moroccan cuisine recipe salted lemons, wash the lemons in hot water and dry. Cut lemons crosswise or into 6 pieces, but do not cut to the end.

Pour a pinch of salt into the middle of each lemon and place tightly in a jar.

Pour the lemons with the remaining salt, spices and pour over the juice. Depending on the size of the lemons, you may need more or less lemon juice. The lemon juice should cover the lemons completely.

Salting lemons lasts a month in a cool place. Stored salted lemons in the refrigerator.
