Potato casserole with barley – a recipe for Belarusian cuisine, a very simple and hearty dish. When serving, pour over the potato granny with sour cream or serve the sour cream separately.

Recipe Ingredients

Potatoes 1 kg
Salo 200 g
Barley 3 tbsp
Eggs 2 pcs
Onion 2 pcs
Sour Cream 2 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

The recipe for Potato Casserole is very simple. Peel and grate potatoes.

Finely chop the onion and fry in lard, cut into cubes.

Cook crumbly porridge from pearl barley.

Mix potatoes with onions, pearl barley porridge, eggs, sour cream, salt and pepper.

Grease a frying pan or baking dish with oil, put the prepared mass approximately 4-5 cm thick and place in an oven preheated to 200°C (390°F). Cook potato casserole for 50-60 minutes.
