Onion bread – a Spanish cuisine recipe, such bread is cooked in the north-west of Spain in Galicia, the bread is very tasty and fragrant.

Recipe Ingredients

Wheat Flour 2.5 cups
Rye Flour 2.5 cups
Water 1 cup
Dry Yeast 3 tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Brandy 1 tbsp
Onion 1-2 pcs
Vegetable Oil 1 tbsp
Salt 2 tsp

Cooking Recipe

To cook a Spanish cuisine recipe onion bread, mix yeast with sugar and warm water. Cover with foil and warm until foaming.

In a separate bowl, combine rye and wheat flour. Add salt to the flour, mix, add vegetable oil, yeast mass, brandy and finely chopped onion.

Knead the onion bread dough until soft. Transfer the dough to a floured board and knead for 10 minutes. After kneading, the dough should be soft and elastic. Transfer the onion bread dough back to the bowl, cover with a damp towel and heat for 1.5 hours.

After the time has elapsed, place the dough on a floured board and knead the dough again, only for 5 minutes. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper, lightly grease it with vegetable oil. Form a loaf of the kneaded dough, place it on a prepared baking sheet and let rise for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220-230°C (430-450°F), place a baking sheet with a suitable dough in it. Bake onion bread for 20 minutes, until golden brown.
