Marshmallow – the recipe for cooking the favorite treat of all American children. Yes, probably, and not only children. And not only American ones. Various colors and flavorings are often added to marshmallows.
- Sugar 500 g
- Water 250 ml
- Gelatin 15 g
- Powdered sugar 2 tbsp
- Cornmeal 2 tbsp
- Vanilla sugar 1 tsp
Combine sugar with water and put on medium heat, stirring constantly. As soon as the syrup boils, stop stirring. Leave the syrup on the fire for another 10-20 minutes, until it starts to stretch.
Beat the swollen gelatin with a mixer, without ceasing to beat, slowly add the syrup in a thin stream.
Whisk the gelatin syrup with a mixer for 20 minutes. Then add vanillin and beat for another 2 minutes.
Spread the mold with vegetable oil, put baking paper or foil on top, grease with oil again. Sprinkle a thin layer of a mixture of powdered sugar and corn flour over the butter. Put marshmallows and sprinkle again.
Leave the mold in a cool place for 5-6 hours. After this time, remove the marshmallows from the mold and cut into cubes with a knife soaked in warm water.
Roll the cubes marshmallows in the remaining powdered sugar and cornmeal powder and serve.
