Iced Hibiscus Tea – summer, sun, heat, everyone is hiding in the cool. But there are those who are happy with this weather – this is hibiscus. Hibiscus flowers are very beautiful, some of its varieties are used in cooking and we also know them under the name hibiscus. So hibiscus bloomed on my windowsill, but I don't dare to make tea from it, I'm not very sure that it is edible. Therefore, the hibiscus was bought at the nearest store. Experiment with spices, you can add honey, lime juice, vanilla and whatnot to your tea.

Recipe Ingredients

Hibiscus 0.5 cup
Water 2 l
Sugar 2 tbsp
Ginger 4 cm
Allspice 3 pcs
Cinnamon 0.5 pcs

Cooking Recipe

The recipe for hibiscus iced tea is very simple. To do this, it is not necessary to grow hibiscus on a windowsill and wait for it to bloom. And besides, not all hibiscus varieties are edible. If you're unsure, it's best to buy a hibiscus from a store.

Crush or finely chop the ginger. Pour all the ingredients into boiling water, mix, let it boil for 5 minutes, cover and turn off.

Let the tea infuse for 20-30 minutes, and then strain into a separate container. Sugar or honey and lime juice can be added at this stage.

When the tea has cooled, pour ice into the glasses, pour in chilled tea and decorate with a sprig of mint.

You can add various spices to cold hibiscus tea, add mint if you like the minty taste. Well, this tea can go basil leaves or lemon zest, experiment.
