Recipe Ingredients

Wheat Flour 600 g
Water 450 ml
Dry Yeast 1 tsp
Olives 125 g
Garlic 2 cloves
Sugar 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Olive Oil 1-2 tbsp

Cooking Recipe

For an Italian recipe, focaccia with olives and garlic, dissolve yeast in warm water, add sugar, salt and let stand for 10 minutes. Then add sifted flour, finely chopped black olives and knead a not very tight dough.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and heat to rise for 2 hours. The dough should double up. Do not be alarmed that the dough sticks too much to your hands when kneading, this will give the focaccia a good rise and be airy.

When the dough comes up, brush your hands with olive oil, knead lightly and place on a baking sheet. Stretch the dough with your hands along the entire perimeter of the baking sheet, having previously greased it with olive oil.

Use your fingers to make several indentations in the future focaccia. Cut the garlic into wedges and place it in the grooves in the dough.

Grease the focaccia with olive oil on top, sprinkle with ground black pepper, coarse salt and heat for 20 minutes. When garlic focaccia rises, bake it at 220°C (430°F) for 20-25 minutes. Flavored, crispy breads are often served warm.
