Sumakh – recipe ingredient

Sumakh or sumak is a shrub or small tree whose seeds are ground and used as a spice. This spice is widely distributed in East and Central Asia. The taste of sumac is slightly sour, which gives the dish a special brightness. Most often, sumy is added to pilaf when cooking meat, but it can also be used in cooking vegetable dishes and even in desserts.
