Nori – recipe ingredient

Nori (海苔) is the Japanese name for various edible red algae species. Nori also refers to foods made from these algae. The final product is made by crushing and then drying the algae on a wire mesh, after which it resembles green paper. These sheets are used in Japanese and Korean cuisine. Nori are part of the rolls, sometimes they are served separately, or finely chopped and mixed with seasonings.
