Pine nuts are the edible seeds of cedar pines and, although they are not nuts, they are commonly called pine nuts in cooking. Pine nuts are extracted from cones of cedar pines and peeled. At the same time, cedar nuts are inedible. Pine nuts are consumed independently, are included in various recipes or serve as raw materials for the production of cedar oil.
